We invite the community to join in our program of special events.
Events 2019 | Date | Eurobodalla Show. Come and see our display and sale items. Showground opens at 9am Moruya Showground. | January Saturday 26th Sunday 27th | ![]() Highlights of the Museum. The Museum has a rich collection of artefacts which range in date from pre-European settlement to the modern day. The museum also houses an extensive collection of documents, microfilms and photographs. Many of these objects tell personal stories about people's lives, places and artefacts. The range of objects in this exhibition, selected and curated by the collection team, reflects the wide range of interests of our volunteers. The objects on display all tell a fascinating story and include:

| February Saturday 9th 2pm | ![]() Women in Portrait:Ambrotypes to mobile phones. The exhibition explores the changes in the way women are protrayed in photography from the 19th Century to the present day in an exhibition of historical and contemporary photographs and portraits. (International Women's Day) At the Museum. | March Friday 8th to Saturday 6th April | General Meeting of the Society. At the Museum
| May Saturday 11th 2pm | ![]() Who's been sitting on my chair? Exhibition as part of the River of Art Official opening 2pm Saturday the 18th May at the Museum. $5 includes afternoon tea. | May Saturday 18th to Saturday 29th June | ![]() | June 8th 8.30am | Annual General Meeting of the Society. | August Saturday 10th 2pm | ![]() | September to October | ![]() | October 5th 8.30am | ![]() Moruya celebrates home movies and recordings in support of UNESCO's World Day for Audiovisual Heritage and Home Movie Day. There will be talks on the history and importance of home movies (including video) and recordings (audiotape, photographs etc.) as well as a workshop on caring for home collections. Talk: The Significance of Home Movies Friday 11th October 11am to 11.30am.
Workshop: Preserving audio visual material. Saturday 26th October 10.00am.

| 5th October-November | Morning Tea at the Museum. Next year the Historical Society will turn 50 and the Committee would like to invite members of the Community to a special morning tea at the Museum on Wednesday 16th of October at 10.30 am. The Historical Society held its inaugural meeting in June 1970 and we would very much like to hear your memories of this time and your ideas on how we can celebrate this important milestone next year. Maybe you are in this 4th Class Moruya school photo or maybe you remember the Air Raid Tavern in the 70's.(Photo from ANU Tooths Yellow cards.) At the Museum
